Oct. 2nd marked the first annual college night hosted at Huntsville High School for the Walker County area. Representatives from many colleges and universities around the state were present to give students and parents information, along with military venues and trade schools.

“I feel like the opportunity of speaking with actual representatives from the colleges gave me insight that I needed to decide on which colleges I would like to apply to. The representatives were very helpful with answering all of my questions and I learned everything that I am currently wanting to know,” junior Codie Munoz said.

With such a great turn out, it was important for college-bound students to attend and ask any questions about college and the school they want to attend.

“I feel like it was is extremely important that juniors and seniors should’ve taken advantage of a great opportunity to learn first-hand about every college that attended the fair,” junior Hailie Sievert said.

Attending the event provided some relief for students facing the daunting choice of what to do after high school.

“The college fair really made it clear that there were so many options for colleges I might want to go to,” junior Dayra Soto said.

Students who took advantage of the opportunity were happy to see that their schools of choice were represented. Many students facing the decision of what college to attend may not have otherwise had the opportunity to gain important knowledge to make informed decisions.

“I talked to Blinn and University of Texas Austin because I will most likely be going to those schools. I got helpful information about transferring from one school to another,” senior Abigail Langlais said.
