I shot 18 holes which is my personal best for a school tournament. There were a couple of holes I could have done better on but in the end I placed 6th and I’m proud,” senior Natalie Lewis Said.

On Monday Jan. 20th through Tues. Jan. 21st, the varsity girls golf team competed in a tournament at the Galveston Country Club.
“In the tournament I felt I could have done better, and our team played really good. Although we had a lot of rain and wind it didn’t stop us from pushing through and playing our best,” senior Abby Hooks said.
The girls placed 6th overall out of 14 teams at the Clearwater tournament earlier this week with two strong members who helped pull the team.
“At the tournament this past week I didn’t play my best, but I plan on practicing more and bettering myself for future tournaments I’d like to say this was our best tournament yet,” senior Joscelin Zapoli said.
Despite there being rain and fog, the girls still went through and gave the tournament their best.
“This was our first tournament in Galveston this year and I did really well. I shot 18 holes which is my personal best for a school tournament. There were a couple of holes I could have done better on but in the end, I placed 6th and I’m proud,” senior Natalie Lewis Said.
The varsity team played with Kingwood, Brazoswood, Clear Creek, Clear Falls, Clear Springs, Katy Taylor, Deer Park, Clear Lake, and Pearland.
“I did not as well as I hoped to perform but hopefully this upcoming weekend will be much better on the course,” senior Jacquelyne Armstrong said. “I hope to place much better within the future and continue to work on my golf game to become better for the team.”
